GEMS preventive screening guidelinesECG & Lung Function Testing (Spirometry)
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Records the electrical activity of your heart. Used to detect arrhythmias, heart disease, and assess cardiovascular risk. Results interpreted same day.
Spirometry (Lung Function Testing)
Measures how much air you can breathe in and out, and how fast. Used to diagnose and monitor asthma, COPD, and other respiratory conditions.
No referral needed. Available during standard consultation hours. Results discussed with you on the day.
NeoHealth Check
A comprehensive point-of-care health assessment. Scheduled on Saturdays for your convenience.
The NeoHealth Check is designed to give you a clear picture of your overall health in one visit.
Includes:
- Anthropometry — height, weight, waist circumference, BMI
- Point-of-care blood tests — haemoglobin, cholesterol, glucose
- Urinalysis
- HIV testing with pre- and post-test counselling
Scheduled on Saturdays for your convenience. A consent form is required and is available at the practice.
