We opened NeoHealth in February 2025 to build the kind of practice we would want for our own families. Between us, Dr Chellan and Dr Lakay hold Diplomas in Child Health and HIV Management (CMSA), FPD certifications in Mental Health and Telemedicine, IV therapy and point-of-care ultrasound accreditations, basic surgical skills, and dispensing licences. It means more of what you need is available in one visit.

Dr Ethan Chellan

Stellenbosch graduate, born and raised in Tulbagh, trained for a year in the rural Eastern Cape, with hospital training at tertiary institutions including the Port Elizabeth Hospital Complex and Frere Hospital in East London. Diplomas in Child Health and HIV Management (CMSA), FPD-certified in Clinical Management of Mental Health. Your first point of contact for the full scope of family medicine: child health, HIV, mental health, chronic disease, and men's health.
Dr Claudia Lakay
Dispensing General Practitioner & Co-founder

Stellenbosch graduate, trained in the rural Eastern Cape before practising at prominent general practices in East London. One of the few female GPs in George offering comprehensive women's health, including pap smears, IUD insertion, hormonal care, IV therapy, and minor procedures in-rooms. She brings a warm, unhurried approach to every consultation, with a special interest in women's long-term wellness from early contraception through menopause and beyond.
How we work
We run a modern practice with the pace and attention of a traditional family GP. Book online in under a minute, or phone reception if you prefer a voice. Most appointments are available the same week. Urgent concerns are fit in sooner.
Consultations run long enough to cover the full picture. On-site dispensing means you leave with the medication you need. IV therapy and minor procedures are performed in-rooms. When specialist referral is the right step, we refer you to trusted specialists we know personally.
We bill 40+ medical aid schemes directly, including Discovery Health (full network), Bonitas, GEMS, Momentum, and Fedhealth. Private and cash patients welcome.

NeoHealth is based in George Central, at Suite 12, Prince Vintcent Square on Gloucester Avenue. We see patients who travel from Wilderness, Sedgefield, Mossel Bay, Knysna, and across the Garden Route. Telehealth consultations are available anywhere in South Africa, in line with HPCSA telemedicine guidelines.
