PrimeCure network GP (dispensing)

Dis-Chem Health & Kaelo MyHealth GP in George, PrimeCure Network Practice

NeoHealth (Drs Chellan & Lakay Inc, practice number 1221566) is a PrimeCure network practice in George Central, the provider network your Dis-Chem Health or Kaelo MyHealth policy runs on. One visit here covers both your consultation and your formulary medication: we're a dispensing practice, so most patients leave with their medicine in hand, no pharmacy stop.

Who's who on your policy: Kaelo Risk (Pty) Ltd administers your policy (FSP 36931), PrimeCure runs the provider network and authorisations, Centriq Insurance underwrites it, and Dis-Chem is the brand you bought it under. One team, and NeoHealth is on it.

An honest distinction: Dis-Chem Health and Kaelo MyHealth are primary health insurance policies, not medical aids. They pay defined day-to-day benefits per policy rather than open-ended scheme cover. We verify your exact benefit on the PrimeCure provider dashboard before we bill.

How billing works at NeoHealth

  1. Authorisation (per the 2026 PrimeCure GP Manual): Core GP visits need no authorisation at all; Vital needs it from visit 3; Plus requires authorisation from the 4th visit onwards. Procedures, suturing, abscess drainage, foreign-body removal, ECG, spirometry, limb casts and similar, always need their own authorisation, on every plan.
  2. IUD insertion is funded in-rooms on Anglo Value Care only, on Dis-Chem Health and Kaelo MyHealth policies it bills privately; we quote before the procedure.
  3. Specialist visits must be pre-authorised on 0861 665 665 or authorisation@kaelo.co.za before the appointment, no retrospective authorisations. Core and Vital have no specialist benefit at all, even pre-authorised, that cost is the member's own account. Plus caps the benefit at R2,000 per person and R4,000 per family, one visit a year (two per family).
  4. In-app pre-authorisation: My Benefits → GP Pre-Authorisation → search Drs Chellan & Lakay (PN 1221566) → confirm.
  5. Dispensing practice: formulary medication issued in-rooms as part of your visit per policy rules. Off-formulary items scripted to a pharmacy at your cost.
  6. Authorisations line: 0861 665 665 · Dis-Chem Health call centre: 0861 029 892 (Mon to Sat 08:00 to 17:00). After-hours emergencies: call the emergency partner number on your membership card.

HIV prevention, testing and ongoing care, on every plan

The PrimeCure HIV Programme is available on ALL plans, with unlimited HIV medicine from your registration date. Registration happens in our rooms: we submit your application with latest pathology and prescription details (B24 ICD-10 coding on scripts), no call-centre runaround for you.

Ongoing management by Dr Chellan, who holds a Diploma in HIV Management (CMSA): treatment initiation, viral-load monitoring, long-term care. Confidential testing and counselling in-rooms; PEP must start within 72 hours of exposure, call us promptly.

Chronic conditions, registered in-rooms

Chronic registration is done by your network GP at a normal consultation (submitted via Mediscor ChroniLine, 0860 119 553). Plus plans cover the full 26-condition chronic disease list plus HIV; Core & Vital plans cover 7 conditions, asthma, diabetes insipidus, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, HIV, hyperlipidaemia and hypertension, with chronic medication funded for registered members per policy rules. We dispense formulary chronic medication where your policy allows.

Maternity: 2 covered 2D ultrasound scans per pregnancy (weeks 10 to 14 and 20 to 24) for all policyholders. The R250-per-quarter contraceptive benefit and childhood immunisations to 6 weeks are Maternity Buy-Up only, not standard on every plan, and the contraceptive collects from a Network pharmacy on a Network provider's script.

What your policy does NOT cover, we'd rather tell you now

Insurance and general-exam consultations, medicals for life insurance, driving licences, growth assessments and similar non-clinical exams, are excluded on PrimeCure policies, even at network GPs. These bill privately; we quote before we start.

Second opinions and follow-ups within 72 hours of a consultation are not separately covered, that follow-up is treated as part of your original visit. Nurse-clinic visits (8 per year) cover minor ailments; chronic disease, HIV, women's health, mental health and anything needing a diagnosis belong with the doctor.

Dis-Chem Health questions, answered

Is Dis-Chem Health a medical aid?

No, it's primary health insurance: defined day-to-day benefits underwritten by Centriq Insurance, administered by Kaelo Risk, on the PrimeCure network. It complements a hospital plan; it isn't open-ended scheme cover.

Do I need authorisation to see you?

Not on Core, all 4 of your annual GP visits need no authorisation. On Vital, your first 2 visits are free of authorisation, but visits 3 and 4 need it, obtainable via the Kaelo app, IVR line or WhatsApp. On Plus, authorisation applies from your 4th visit. In-rooms procedures (suturing, ECG, spirometry and similar) always need authorisation, on every plan. Specialist visits must be pre-authorised on 0861 665 665 before the appointment, no retrospective authorisations. Reception confirms your status when you book.

Can I really get my medication at the consultation?

Yes, we're a dispensing PrimeCure practice. Formulary medication is issued in-rooms as part of your visit per policy rules. Off-formulary items are scripted to a pharmacy at your cost.

How do I register for the HIV programme?

In our rooms at a normal consultation, we handle the application, pathology requirements and prescription coding. The programme runs on all plans with unlimited HIV medicine from registration.

What about virtual consultations?

Your policy includes app-based virtual consults (Plus unlimited, Core 4, Vital 2) with no authorisation needed. For anything hands-on (examinations, procedures, dispensing), book in-rooms with us.

I have Dis-Chem Health AND a medical aid, how does that work?

Many members pair primary-care insurance with a hospital plan. We bill each visit to the correct funder per your cover, bring both cards.

What do I bring to my first visit?

Your membership card (or the app's digital card) and your ID. We verify your benefits and visit count on the PrimeCure dashboard before billing.

Emergencies after hours?

For a genuine emergency, call the emergency partner number on your membership card. For urgent but non-emergency care, we keep Saturday morning hours, 09:00 to 13:00.
