Medshield questions, answered

Do you accept Medshield?

Yes. We see Medshield members and bill the scheme directly at reception. Bring your membership card and your ID.

Will I have to pay up front?

In most cases no. We claim from the scheme in real time. Where your option defines a co-payment, we tell you the amount before the consultation.

Does my Medshield option affect what is covered?

Yes. Day-to-day GP cover, savings and co-payments are set by your option rather than by the practice. Reception verifies your card before the visit, and Medshield can confirm your benefit detail directly.

Do I need a referral to see a specialist?

Usually yes, and we arrange referral letters in-rooms. Some procedures also need pre-authorisation, which we flag at booking and give you the procedure code for.

Can I be seen on a Saturday?

Yes. We consult 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays and 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, and we accept walk-in patients during consulting hours.
