Imperial Motus Med GP in George, Momentum Traditional GP Network

NeoHealth (Drs Chellan & Lakay Inc, practice number 1221566) sees Imperial Motus Med members at our George Central practice. Imperial Motus Med is a restricted scheme for Imperial and Motus employees, administered by Momentum Health Solutions.

We are contracted as a Momentum Traditional GP Network provider. Momentum runs several distinct GP networks with separate provider lists and separate rules, so which one your option uses decides how your visit is funded. It is worth knowing before you book rather than after.

How billing works at NeoHealth

  1. Bring your membership card and your ID to every visit so reception can verify your option before you are seen.
  2. We claim from the scheme at reception, in real time, at scheme rates.
  3. Any co-payment your option defines is quoted to you before the consultation, not afterwards.
  4. Acute medication dispensed in-rooms where your option allows; chronic medication is collected from a pharmacy of your choice or delivered through Medipost.
  5. Referral letters and pre-authorisations for specialists and procedures arranged in-rooms.
  6. On the Budget Plan, Imperial Motus Med's own member guide names an 'MH GP Network' for day-to-day GP cover: each dependant nominates up to two GPs on it, and 2 out-of-network visits per family per year are still covered at the normal benefit even without nomination. On the Health Plan, any registered GP is covered at 85% of the Medical Scheme Rate, no network or nomination applies.
  7. Budget Plan specialist consultations are only covered when you've been referred by a GP, we arrange this referral before the visit.
  8. Tell reception which scheme is on your card. Momentum Health Solutions administers several schemes and the rules differ between them.
  9. Quote NeoHealth (Drs Chellan & Lakay Inc), practice number 1221566, when confirming benefits.

Imperial Motus Med questions, answered

Do you accept Imperial Motus Med?

Yes. We see Imperial Motus Med members at our George Central practice and bill the scheme directly at reception. Bring your membership card and your ID.

Will I have to pay up front?

In most cases no. We claim from the scheme in real time. Where your option defines a co-payment, we tell you the amount before the consultation.

Does my option change what is covered?

Yes. Day-to-day GP cover, savings and co-payments are set by your specific option rather than by the practice. Reception verifies your card before the visit, and your scheme can confirm your benefit detail directly.

Do you dispense medicine?

For short-course acute treatment, yes. Dr Chellan and Dr Lakay each hold a Section 22C(1)(a) dispensing licence from the National Department of Health. Chronic medication is collected from a pharmacy of your choice or delivered through Medipost.

Can I be seen on a Saturday?

Yes. We consult 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays, and we accept walk-in patients during consulting hours.

Is NeoHealth in the Momentum network for my plan?

We are contracted on the Momentum Traditional GP Network. If your Imperial Motus Med option uses that network, we can usually claim as a network GP. Momentum can confirm your network on 0860 11 78 59, which is both the call and WhatsApp number.

How do I know which Momentum network I am on?

Your Momentum app or your membership certificate will say. Momentum runs Traditional GP, Primary Care, and Ingwe Primary Care and Active as separate networks with separate provider lists. If you are unsure, phone reception before booking and we will check with you.

Other schemes on the Momentum GP network

These schemes fund GP visits through a Momentum provider network. Momentum runs more than one network with separate provider lists, so confirm the network your specific option uses.
