Momentum Traditional GP Network provider

BP Medical Aid Society GP in George, Momentum Traditional GP Network

NeoHealth (Drs Chellan & Lakay Inc, practice number 1221566) sees BPMAS members at our George Central practice. BP Medical Aid Society is a restricted scheme administered by Momentum Health Solutions.

We are contracted as a Momentum Traditional GP Network provider. Momentum runs several distinct GP networks with separate provider lists and separate rules, so which one your option uses decides how your visit is funded. It is worth knowing before you book rather than after.

How billing works at NeoHealth

  1. Please bring both your membership card and a form of ID whenever you visit us, so reception can check your option ahead of your consultation.
  2. Your claim goes to the scheme from reception in real time, charged at scheme rates rather than a separate practice rate.
  3. Where your option includes a co-payment, reception quotes it upfront, before your consultation begins.
  4. Acute medication dispensed in-rooms where your option allows. Chronic medication is paid at 100% at Clicks, BPMAS's designated pharmacy, a non-DSP pharmacy carries a 20% co-payment.
  5. We handle referral letters and any pre-authorisation your specialist visit or procedure needs, in-rooms.
  6. Missing hospital pre-authorisation costs a 20% co-payment on the account, capped at R1,000 (PMB treatment excepted). Voluntarily choosing a non-DSP hospital adds a separate 10% co-payment, capped at R10,000.
  7. To register chronic medicine, we call BPMAS's Medicine Risk Management line on 0861 888 124 for telephonic authorisation, or email the MRM form to mrm@bpmas.co.za.
  8. Tell reception which scheme is on your card. Momentum Health Solutions administers several schemes and the rules differ between them.
  9. Quote NeoHealth (Drs Chellan & Lakay Inc), practice number 1221566, when confirming benefits.

BPMAS questions, answered

Do you accept BPMAS?

Yes. We see BPMAS members at our George Central practice and bill the scheme directly at reception. Bring your membership card and your ID.

Will I have to pay up front?

In most cases no. We claim from the scheme in real time. Where your option defines a co-payment, we tell you the amount before the consultation.

Does my option change what is covered?

Yes. Day-to-day GP cover, savings and co-payments are set by your specific option rather than by the practice. Reception verifies your card before the visit, and your scheme can confirm your benefit detail directly.

Do you dispense medicine?

For short-course acute treatment, yes. Dr Chellan and Dr Lakay each hold a Section 22C(1)(a) dispensing licence from the National Department of Health. Chronic medication is collected from a pharmacy of your choice or delivered through Medipost.

Can I be seen on a Saturday?

Yes. We consult 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays, and we accept walk-in patients during consulting hours.

Is NeoHealth in the Momentum network for my plan?

We are contracted on the Momentum Traditional GP Network. If your BPMAS option uses that network, we can usually claim as a network GP. Momentum can confirm your network on 0860 11 78 59, which is both the call and WhatsApp number.

How do I know which Momentum network I am on?

Your Momentum app or your membership certificate will say. Momentum runs Traditional GP, Primary Care, and Ingwe Primary Care and Active as separate networks with separate provider lists. If you are unsure, phone reception before booking and we will check with you.

Other schemes on the Momentum GP network

These schemes fund GP visits through a Momentum provider network. Momentum runs more than one network with separate provider lists, so confirm the network your specific option uses.
